Busy busy!!
Sorry this is late. It's been a busy week! My MOH, Emily, and I spent the day Tuesday doing wedding stuff. We were originally going to do bridesmaid dresses, tent, cake and booze..but we only got to the tent and the booze (and the cake, kinda).
The good news? WE BOOKED A TENT! It feels real when I do big stuff like that. I built my own tent package and am going to end up saving about $1,300 which is MUCH needed in other areas of the planning. The tent was from Grand Central Party Tents and included the tables for the guests, a cake table, bridal banquet table, chairs, a cool light fixture thing, and of course, a dance floor! By purchasing my own linens for the tables (which I also did on this productive day) I am saving $120!! Can you believe it is less expensive to BUY tablecloths than to rent them??? wow!
So after signing the tent contract, we headed to Frugal MacDoogal downtown. I needed some booze for the summer..but I was also checking on prices for the wedding. The good news is they have a staff member especially for weddings, and you get a discount on wine for a wedding when you buy by the case!
Finally, we headed to Publix to check out the amazing cakes I keep hearing so much about. We needed an appointment, so I made one on Sunday so that Brian can come along. We get to try 3 kinds (Red Velvet, Carrot, and Coconut!) The prices was what I was really interested in, but I'll take free cake too!
Since Tuesday I have been trying to figure out my bridesmaid situation. We went today to a place that can order Alfred Angelo dresses and that said they would give me a 10% discount for buying all 6 with them, but the measurements my maids got made their sizes way bigger than they actually were, so now we have to find a time to get them in there to check. I dunno why there isn't a universal way of measuring between bridal designers and stores. Hopefully we can get that nailed down in the next couple weeks! Speaking of dresses...mine should be in soon for my first fitting!! EXCITING!!
